Augustinian nuns make bracelets as a keepsake of the Pope’s visit

More than 8,000 people (teenagers, young people, families and religious men and women from parishes and schools of the Augustinian Family all over Spain) will travel to Madrid in the coming days to take part in the Youth Vigil on Saturday, June 6, in the Plaza de Lima, and in the Corpus Christi Mass on Sunday, June 7, in the Plaza de Cibeles. But many people will not be able to attend these moments in person.

With these people in mind, the contemplative Augustinian nuns of Seville and Huelva have made bracelets to show their affection for Pope Leo XIV and to help those who cannot travel feel close to the Holy Father.

“With the intention For those who stay behind, the communities of Santa María de Gracia in Huelva and San Leandro in Seville will hand out these bracelets to people linked to their communities or who visit them these days, as a keepsake of Pope Leo XIV’s visit, for those who cannot attend the meeting with him,” explains Sister María de la Eucaristía from Huelva.
In Huelva, the Augustinian community is made up of 17 nuns who run the Santa María de Gracia School. The Augustinian community in Seville has 19 nuns who, besides prayer, devote themselves to baking and to making liturgical vestments.
