What began as a project to accompany Leo XIV’s visit to Spain is today becoming the Augustinian Family’s great communications venture: an international outlet, in five languages, sharing the life of the pontificate from an Augustinian perspective and with unity as its banner.

Some projects are born for a particular moment and end up discovering a much larger mission. That is what has happened with Agustinos con el Papa.

Our story began with a simple intention: to accompany Pope Leo XIV’s visit to Spain, bring his words closer to the faithful and share the experience of an event of special significance for the Augustinian Family. But that initiative helped us discover something that went far beyond an apostolic visit: the possibility of building, together, a shared space for communication.

Today, 1 November 2026, the Solemnity of All Saints, Agustinos con el Papa is reborn as a universal communications project. What began as a way to accompany a single event becomes a lasting commitment to telling the story of Leo XIV’s pontificate through the spirituality of Saint Augustine.

And we do so with one word as our banner: UNITY.

Unity as our starting point

The Augustinian Family is present in many countries, cultures and settings. We share the same spiritual roots, even though our histories, traditions and ways of living the charism have different nuances. That diversity is one of our greatest treasures.

For centuries we have proclaimed the Gospel, educated, accompanied communities, served the most vulnerable and contributed to the intellectual and spiritual life of the Church. We have also learned to share our experiences through each of our institutions.

Now we want to take one step further: to do it together.

Agustinos con el Papa is the first news platform shared by the Augustinian Family. It is driven by the communications offices of the General Curias of the Order of Saint Augustine and the Order of Augustinian Recollects, with the collaboration of the Discalced Augustinians and the Augustinians of the Assumption.

It is much more than a collaboration between institutions. It is a statement of intent about how we want to work and communicate.

Unity does not mean uniformity. It means recognising that our differences enrich one and the same mission, that none of our voices loses its identity when it meets the others, and that we can go much further when we put our talents at the service of a common purpose.

Saint Augustine invited us to live with “one soul and one heart intent upon God”. Today we want that ideal to inspire the way we communicate as well.

Because unity is not only what we want to talk about. It is how we want to do it.

An Augustinian look at the pontificate of Leo XIV

The election of Leo XIV has opened a particularly meaningful time for all of us who share the spirituality of Saint Augustine. Yet our closeness to the Holy Father cannot stop at the pride of recognising in him an Augustinian brother.

We want that closeness to become service to the Church.

Our mission will be to follow the pontificate of Leo XIV, report on his journeys, explain his documents, delve into his homilies and bring his teaching closer to people of different countries and cultures.

But we do not want simply to report on what the Pope does. We want to help people understand what he says, why he says it and how his message can shed light on people’s lives and on the challenges of our time.

We will do this from our Augustinian identity, a spiritual tradition that invites us to seek the truth, cultivate interiority, live in community and keep our hearts open to humanity’s questions.

We are committed to journalistic rigour, analysis, reflection and testimony. We want to tell the news without losing sight of people, explain events without falling into superficiality and offer a space where faith and culture can enter into dialogue.

Our perspective will be Augustinian. Our horizon, universal.

One family, five languages and one mission

This new stage begins with a truly international calling.

Agustinos con el Papa will offer content in Spanish, English, Portuguese, French and Italian: five languages that will allow us to share news, reflections and testimonies with readers on different continents.

The platform will bring together news, opinion pieces, culture and testimonies. It will also include Pope Tracker, a digital tool to follow the Holy Father’s travels.

But our aim is not only to talk about the Pope. We also want to tell how the Augustinian Family lives out its mission in the world.

We want to show the stories of our communities, our evangelisation initiatives, our educational projects, our social works and the testimonies of those who make the Gospel present in very different situations.

Because accompanying the Pope also means walking with the Church, listening to its concerns, sharing its hopes and taking an active part in its mission.

To achieve this, we will build an international network of contributors, religious and lay people who will bring their experience and knowledge from different parts of the world.

A family that communicates as one can reach places that none of its institutions would reach on its own.

We are not starting from scratch: we are starting together

This 1 November we are not simply launching a new website. We are continuing a story that has found a wider horizon.

The project born to accompany an apostolic visit is now reborn to accompany a pontificate. The initiative that brought efforts together around one event becomes a shared commitment to communication.

And we want to do it without losing what made us begin: closeness to the Holy Father, the desire to share the faith and the conviction that communication can build communion.

We know the road ahead will demand effort, creativity, professionalism and the ability to listen. But we also know that the Augustinian Family has an extraordinary human and spiritual wealth that deserves to be shared with the world.

We chose the Solemnity of All Saints to begin this new stage because holiness also speaks to us of unity: men and women of different times, places and cultures who, with all their differences, answered one and the same call.

That is the spirit we want to bring to our newsroom.

We do not aspire to be just another outlet reporting on the Vatican. We want to be a meeting place, a voice built by many, and a window from which to contemplate the life of the Church with Augustinian eyes.

We believe in journalism that serves the truth, in communication that brings people closer together, and in a Church where the diversity of charisms finds its strength in communion.

Today Agustinos con el Papa is reborn.

It is reborn with a broader mission, a universal calling and the certainty that the best way to communicate is to do it together.

Because our story began by accompanying the Pope in Spain, but today we want to accompany him from every corner of the world.

One family. One Augustinian perspective. One universal mission.

Agustinos con el Papa. United to communicate. Welcome, brother!

I know Leo XIV
